An eastern European twenty-five years old girl, Harja, in escape from bad sort Cintanidd, unquestioned boss of the apulian mafia in water-business, finds refuge in a farm whose owner is a strange character: Felice, a schizophrenic forty years old man who lives out of time with the gift of water-divining, the only person able to help the farmers to find water.
The boss charges Tonino the collector to find who is challenging him in opening the water wells and the Camardo brothers to find Harja. Among Felice and the young woman in escape has born an almost brotherly love, till a day something happens that seems to undermine the confidence she had placed in him. After various researches both the Camardos and Tonino find out where the girl is and who the diviner is; Felice and Harja will have to decide their destinies
