Back in January, in partnership with Inside the Outdoors Foundation,
Newport Beach Film Festival, Newport Bay Naturalist & Friends and
OC Parks, we helped launch a contest for all OrangeCountyHigh School
students. The task was simple; create a 30 or 60 second public service
announcement (PSA) focused on any environmental topic of their choice.
We challenged them to make an ECOMMERCIAL that would tell send a
message about what was most important to them when it comes to
sustainability and environmental awareness. 


After the April 9th deadline, there were more than 100 entries to
review and choosing a winner was a difficult task indeed! There were 3
different judging bodies and with five winning spots up for grabs and a
grip-load of prizes the competition really heated up in the last week.

 

Sunday, April 25th, we were happy to come together at the Earth Day
Celebration 2010 presented by Newport Bay Naturalist & Friends at
the OC Parks’ Peter and MaryMuthInterpretiveCenter to celebrate the
winners and their achievements. Winners walked away with cash prizes, Stormy Monday skateboards, Volcom product, Electric product, and prizes from all the other sponsors (big thanks to all of them!).
