Video Volunteers is an international media organization empowering the voices of the world’s unheard communities. Its mission is to empower the world’s poorest citizens to right the wrongs they witness by becoming players in the global media revolution. Video Volunteersprovides disadvantaged communities with journalistic, critical thinking and creative skills, teaching people to articulate and share their perspectives on the issues that matter to them – on a local and a global scale. // Video Volunteers’ IndiaUnheard is India’s first ever Community News Service. IndiaUnheard has a network of more than 31 Community Correspondents (CCs) from 24 states and union territories across India. These Community Correspondents represent India’s most marginalized communities, such as Dalits, tribal people, religious, lingual and sexual minorities. The video reports filed by the CCs are on issues that are of utmost importance to these communities and are not reported by the mainstream media. ___________________________ French: Video Volunteers est une organisation à but non-lucratif. Sa mission : permettre aux citoyens les plus pauvres de la planète et aux minorités les moins représentées de faire entendre leurs voix en devenant des acteurs de la révolution médiatique en marche. / Son programme India Unheard est le premier programme d'actualités communautaire en Inde. India Unheard a un réseau de plus de 30 correspondants (Community Correspondents : CC) aux quatre coins de l'Inde. Il représente les communautés les plus marginalisées du pays : les Dalits, les Tribaux, des minorités religieuses, sexuelles ou linguistiques. Leurs reportages vidéos abordent des sujets importants à leurs yeux mais malheureusement tabous dans les médias grand public.
