Social Development Foundation was established in 1998 in Delhi. It is a secular humanist organisation working among the formerly untouchable communities, tribals, landless farmers and Muslim minority the special focus on women's right. SDF has focussed the issue of human rights and religiousintolerance and in the past five years have been giving human rights training to grassroot activists and advocating their issues with the government. SDF has also been able to bring many facets of discrimination, untouchability, issue of manual scavenging, carrying nightsoil over head, and hunger and starvation deaths in many parts of India particularly north Indian state of Utttar-Pradesh. SDF has formed a grassroots movement on land rights named as Uttar-Pradesh Land Alliance which has more than 150 organisations in its network, We wish to start a national Land alliance.
