More than 500 million people in Africa have no access to electricity. The Freeplay Foundation provides wind-up and solar-powered lights to the poorest of the poor -- orphaned children in Rwanda. In this video, you will see some of the children that require light in their lives.

Often, children will use dangerous, polluting and inefficient candles and kerosene after the sun goes down. The Lifelight will extend children’s productive hours, enabling them to study, cook, play, walk safely at night, see dangers and feel safer at night.

Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks and the Lemelson Foundation funded Freeplay Foundation's development of the Lifelights.

Help the Freeplay Foundation to provide child families with a safe, clean, bright, high quality wind-up and solar powered LED flashlight this holiday season.

To sponsor a Lifelight, please visit: www.freeplayfoundation.org/donate.html and donate!

For more information, visit: www.freeplayfoundation.org/lifelight.html
