New video from Freeplay Foundation: Mama Lucy on solar powered radio
Mama Lucy Odipo, founder and headmistress of the Little Bees School in Starehe township, in Kenya, speaks to CEO of Freeplay Foundation Kristine Pearson about the blessing of solar power as she does not have electricity and cannot afford to buy batteries.Mama Lucy, a local heroine, looks after 20 orphans in makeshift housing. An additional 180 children attend primary school in community build classrooms.
The Lifeline radio will give children sustainable access to the primary school national curriculum, which the Kenya Institute of Education broadcasts via radio.
